For These Are the Things Jesus Taught
Well, I go home this month next year so that feels kinda crazy
Highlights
🌊: Didier and Stephanie Soto were baptized and their dad that we baptized a couple weeks ago baptized them. It was one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
⛈️: Grandma, don't worry, I took your advice in the email and have been trying to stay away from the lightning. Storms were going crazy here this week though and the streets were just rivers.
💍: Our recent convert proposed to his girl at the ward activity.
🇬🇹: We had our Multi-Zona and that was super good. It's always energizing to see the Dawgs again. I missed my boys.
🚕: Morby and I had the worst taxi driver ever and this dude had the nerve to ask us if we wanted to save his number so we could call him when we need a drive. Passenger Prisoner treatment.
🌯: Morby and I learned how to make tortillas this week with the Soto Family. They also made us dinner Thursday, Friday, Saturday and also breakfast on Sunday so… they are solid converts I'd say. The mom also bought me a ton of multi-vitamins for free cause she said I have lost weight from my before-mission picture to now.
🔝: Morby and I had to share some testimonies about what we thought about missionary work to the ward in order to motivate them to participate. We got 20 texts after the sacrament meeting to come visit with us throughout the week 😳😳😳.
💳: Morby left his mission card in the ATM machine and now it's lost.
👦: We had an army of middle school kids yelling at us and when I responded if they wanted a picture, they went insaneeee. Morby and I were crying laughing.
💯: Hot take of the week. Morby says that “Block” needs to be to changed to Blahc to fit pronunciation. I'm there for it tho.
🌊: Krisleth canceled her vacation so she could get baptized next Sunday. She a dawg fr.
Spiritual Thought
Recently on the mission I've really tried to focus on having charity. The more I've tried to love the people, more than anything else, the more I've seen miracles and the pure form of joy. The fulfillment of the missionary purpose is not one of the factors in finding the love of the mission, rather the fulfillment of your missionary objective and love for the mission are direct products of the love you have for the people you are teaching and around every day.
The love of the mission does not come with the completion of numbers. It all starts once you choose to serve instead of work. We are called to “serve". If we choose to serve, everything will follow and fall into place as it should.
God does not give us the attributes we ask for; rather he gives us the opportunity to exercise the attributes we want to improve.
“Love one another as Jesus loves you.
Try to show kindness in all that you do.
Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought,
For these are the things Jesus taught.”
Hope you have blessed weeks
