Week 15 - October 27, 2025

Instruments

I think I have a problem because every time I start to write these emails, I seem to forget about everything that happened. But this was a pretty chill week so maybe I'm thinking right this time.

Tactic
So, I spent my first 3 days of the week in a different area in a different Zone because my comp went to the capital to cancel his Visa as he is headed home in 3 weeks. This is why not a ton happened in my area this week because we didn't have tons of time to work. But Tactic is super cool. The weather is unreal there. Apparently, the members are always beefing. We had a pretty funny night because we called this member to see if we could still meet him at 6. He told us he couldn't, so we went to the next appointment and were asking these little girls who are members where this person lives. They told us about 50 different places and asked what my name was 50 different times. Only to eventually go in their house and see the guy from the previous appointment and the girl we were looking for. If you want to know how Guatemala is, there you go.
πŸš«πŸ‘‚πŸš«πŸ—£πŸ‘¨‍πŸ‘©‍πŸ‘§‍πŸ‘¦
So, incase my graphic was not clear, we have a family we are teaching, and the parents can't hear or talk. But honestly, it's one of the coolest experiences ever, teaching them every time. Every single time, it's just so strong. We teach the lesson to all the kids and then one of them just starts going off signing and it's just so amazing to watch. First just seeing them signing is so cool and then second just watching their faces as they learn. We hope they are getting good translations at least. But of course, our luck the kids showed up to the church at 9 am last week and nobody was there because we were at District Conference😭😭😭. But they are progressing a lot and it's super cool to be a part of.
Random Events
πŸ•- So one day there was this wolf-like dog guarding this door we wanted to knock. So, I kicked a plastic cup at it. Next thing I know this thing is all out sprinting at me ready to kill me. But fear not, I held my ground, and nothing happened. May have lost a year of life but we live and we learn.
πŸ•- I think they need to put up a sign for number one Dominoes customer because honestly, I think I deserve it. It might be a bad thing though because I walked up on Friday to order and the worker just hit me with, “How many Carnivoras today, Elder”. Wasn't sure how to feel about this one honestly.
⛪️- This week we had 60 people at church!!! Such a win. Love seeing the building packed. We were not expecting that showing because also one of the big families told us they couldn't make it. But we had so many less-actives show up. It was amazing.
🍻- Please send prayers for Yeyko. Friday night Yeyko called us and was like hey, can we meet tomorrow. Yes, of course. Ok how about 4 am? Hahaha. Persuaded him to 6… So we wake up at 5:15 and walked 40 minutes to meet up with him at this park. But he didn't show up. So, we decided to walk to his house… on the way we find him in a tienda with a beer. We then start talking to him and he buys another beer in front of us and explains how he had some beer and cocaine late last night. Ahhh, what a series of events.
πŸ‘¨‍🎀- We had some member yell at us that he was upset we don't stand up and sing and yell and clap in church. We need to PRAISE THE LORD. Maybe he's got a point 🀷‍♂️.

Spiritual Thought
If you do not know, the church revealed they are coming out with 55 new missions this week which is just insane. They also showed at this moment there are more than 84,000 missionaries in over 150 countries. Sometimes I'll just be walking the streets and think about all my boys that are out doing the same thing, maybe giving the same lesson as me from thousands of miles away. Alma 32:1 says:

1 And it came to pass that they did go forth, and began to preach the word of God unto the people, entering into their synagogues, and into their houses; yea, and even they did preach the word in their streets

This scripture is being fulfilled throughout the world. The Lord is hastening his work. There is nothing more fulfilling and rewarding than a mission. You don't need to know everything. You just need to be an instrument in the Lord's hand. You do this by being in places he can work through you. You don't need to know it all; you just need to be yourself. He wants to help you, and he wants to magnify all of your efforts. Read and pray every day. It's always been by small and simple things. I'm so grateful and so happy to be where I am. The mission is truly amazing. I am learning to love every moment. And just learning that at the end of the day ALLLL you have to do out here is try your best. So grateful for everybody's support more than you could know. Love you all.

Week 14 - October 20, 2025

 HOW BOUT THEM COUGS!

WOWWW prayers do work in so many ways. What a game #skocougs. I'm not jealous at all of anyone that was in attendance…

Marcos
So after Marcus came to district conference last week, with pure joy we decided to see if he wanted to get baptized this week. Where with a big smile he accepted. We returned the next two days, and he was just so happy and excited for his baptism on Sunday. My comp said this was the easiest baptism he has ever set. We did have One visit that was very interesting as we husked corn and degrained every single one for two hours. The corn is very tough so the fingers paid the price. But it was worth it because he pulled through with the baptism.

Yeyko
What a Rollercoaster this week was with Yeyko. But wow what a miracle. So basically, Tuesday we walked to his house again which is not a close walk. It's like an hour each way. And yet again he brushed us off and it didn't happen. So, we decided to drop him cause he was just dodging us five visits in a row. Then Sunday morning we are getting ready to leave to go pick up this family for church. And after leaving us on read all week he calls us. He's like, "Hey, I want to come to church today." We're like what is happening. So, we go pick him up and while we are at the baptism he basically tells us how bad he feels about everything and how he hopes he can be baptized soon because of how he's felt that day. Whattttt a turn around.

Drunkkk guy
This week I realllllly took one for the team. We were in the center and had an appointment with this guy who is very very interesting. He brought his daughter who's 8 and she was just trying to go home. But we were sitting on this bench and this drunkkkkk guy came up and like started bowing to us then went and sat next to the girl and was like putting his arms around her and the dad WASNT DOING ANYTHING? I was like nah, so I took the guy over like 15 feet away. For the next hour while my companion was teaching this guy, I just had this drunk who just smelled so bad and was just trying to hug me the entire time. But he would just not leave. I will say it was a very very long hour.

Spiritual thought

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Very basic scripture I know I know. However, my companion and I have been talking about this concept a ton this week and I just love this scripture a lot. No where in this scripture does it say that we must have a perfect knowledge. No where does it say that we must have perfect actions. And nowhere does it say that we need to be perfect. But what it does say we need to do is believe.

Elder Dieter F Uchtdorf said in the October 2024 conference, “If we wait to act until all of our questions are answered, we severely limit the good we can accomplish, and we limit the power of our faith.” It is never about knowing everything or being perfect. We just need to have a little bit of belief and a little bit of faith and act. Faith is a thing of action. The more we act the more we strengthen our faith. And we cannot strengthen it from doing nothing.

Little bit of a short email today, but I love you all.  Hope you had great weeks and will have great ones.

Week 13 - October 13, 2025

FIRST BAPTISMS

This week was so good, and we saw so many miracles throughout it.

Temple
So, we started out the week waking up at 3 am. Originally it was going to be 4 but there was going to be protests on a road 2 hours away that we needed to cross before they started at 6. So, we got up bright and early and hopped on the minibus. Now I'm gonna jump ahead a little. 6:05 we find ourselves stuck behind the protests. Now you might be asking how this happened. Don't worry I'll tell you. The Hermanas we picked up decided it would be fun to take 45 minutes to get out of their house. With a temple appointment ahead, we needed to find a way to get to CobΓ‘n which was about an hour away. So, we jumped out of our bus and walked across the protests and found a public bus. Who knows how but there was literally 100 people on this bus, and this led to some Elders having some very very unfortunate circumstances. Buttt we made it to the temple. And it was so so so good. Gave us breakfast and lunch too. We were all just very grateful we made it. May have even purchased some sleeveless garments there. Haven't tried them yet but I'll let you know next week.

Baptisms
Had my first baptisms this week. We baptized three people this week which was amazing because also it was District Conference, Zone Conference but for branches, so we had church in the Chapel in Salama which is the nicest city in our zone and also has a Utah chapel. So, we had like 400 people there for church and then a ton stayed after for the baptism. Now this only added to my already nerves for my already first non-temple baptism. Can't even lie hands were shaking going into it. But once I got into the water, I was totally calm. Definitely a blessing.
Marcos
So, we also set three more baptismal dates with Marcos and his family but I'm going to focus on Marcos because dude is just such a stud. He lives in this Aldea like 45 minutes from our city Rabinal. And we were talking to him on Friday and told him about the service we had in Salama which is like 2 hours from him, and he would have to wake up at like 5:30 to make it to the church. But when we asked him, he gave us a, “YES I'm GOING to come”. Keep in mind this guy is super old and is in really bad health at the moment. But sure enough 8 o'clock in front of our house to leave for district conference there he was. And he wants to come again next week so we might just push up his baptismal date. But seriously such a milagro.

Thursday
Thursday was literally just blessings on blessings everywhere. Probably one of the best days on my mission so far. Let me preface that in Rabinal, nobody gives you anything. Started out the day going into this ice cream store where they just give us both ice cream and smoothies. And we talked to the lady for a while and she's super cool. Then we were walking to a Cita and this lady we don't know yells at us and invites us into her house and gives us some fire drinks. We leave her house. Less than 10 steps later, this family starts talking to us and we go in and give a lesson. We were mainly talking to the 17-year-old Brayan who we told to pray about what we taught. He texted us later that week saying how good he felt when he prayed btw. But also, on the way out handed us fruit popsicle things. Now on the way to our next appointment we decided to stop and grab a donut from this shop. Yup free and let us pick drinks to go with it. Next tienda we walk into gives us cookies. Then walking to our next cita, we had a lady we contacted call us saying how she wants to meet with us again. THIS DOESNT HAPPEN. Now just when you thought it was over we were walking home stopping to get food and for the first time ever I decided not to get Domino's but go get a burrito from the market. We were joking saying how somebody was going to buy us something. But we get in line and the person in front of us asks what we think is best then proceeds to give them the money and buys our meal. It was actually just the craziest day ever. We had so much success and so many miracles.

Spiritual thought- Doctrine and Covenats 18:15

15 And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!

I really like this scripture a lot but when I think about it I like to change it a little bit. A lot of times sometimes I think we get lost in thinking this has to be someone else when in reality I think maybe it just needs to be us. Your greatest convert is yourself. So, when we change the scripture to say:

15 And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be your soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!

I feel it develops a greater meaning. How great the joy in heaven if you simply can bring yourself. You don't need to change the hearts of everyone you find. Not saying this isn't also great. But bringing yourself is the most important thing you can do. It all starts with yourself.

Love you all and shoutout Corner Canyon golf team on their 3-peat.  Love to see it from the boys. Big congratulations

Week 12 - October 6, 2025

 WEEK 12- C.C.C.CC.C

I just want everyone to know I took a long time writing this. And I'm also very sorry if you are intending on reading it in its entirety. But what an amazing week. ELITEEEE.

Cita
This week I had my migration appointment in the capital. Now this happens three times in your mission and is regarded as a top day you will have. And it didn't disappoint. Started out getting Panda Express in Coban then getting on a BOUJEEE bus. Not sitting in a 50-year-old van was nice, but the head rest was unbelievable. Watched some best two years on the way there, also. I can't even describe this comvo. Following this we arrived at the hotel and felt like a little kid just going around the hotel shook about everything. The hotel was very very nice. Guatemala CobΓ‘n Belize mission treats the missionaries well. The pool and hot tubs were looking way too nice I promise. We then had an unreal buffet followed by the best shower experience and sleep I've had in three months. Then waking up to an unreal breakfast buffet. Then the shortest migration appointment ever. Other than the combined 22 hours of travel, I did in this time it was amazing.
Cambios
So this week we had our cambios (transfers) meeting which is essentially like a Broadway play almost where they are just revealing if each area is changing or not. And my parents will remember how much I loved Les Mis or however you spell it we can just go with le miserable. But they do go all out for a solid hour and a half. I will be staying here and staying with my comp. This is also his last transfer which means this is probably my home for another 3 months 😁😁😁.

CobΓ‘n
We just got the opportunity to go to CobΓ‘n tomorrow as a zone to the temple also. Each transfer zone goes so this just adds to the amazing week. I'm so stoked to be able to go the temple. It is so cool there and I haven't been in like two months. I am not sure what we will be doing but that's for next week anyway.

Corner Canyon
Big good luck to my boys on the Corner Canyon golf team going to state this week. Love and miss all you boys so much and wish you the best of luck at State. Get the 3-peat πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™.

Conference
Sooo in case anyone missed an unreal general conference, don't worry because you have here a C-tier recap of everything. But because you don't need to or probably don't want to read the full recap, here is my favorite takeaways in short.

2025 October General Conference - Better Together: There is room for every single person in the fold of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. We do NOT need more judgement in the world. We need disciples of Jesus Christ eagerly helping those come to him. Whether that be new converts or returning ones, we must have open arms. It does not matter what path someone is on, the speed they are taking on it, or the variability in it. We must cheer every single person on through every single moment. It is a gospel of infinite chances. Like Brad Wilcox said he has already paid the price in full. He does not pay more when you try more and he does not pay less when you refrain from attempting to return. Try to return. Encourage those that are trying. There is room for everyone in the house of the Lord. Nobody is never not worthy of the love and guidance of the Savior and his people. Open your arms for all to come in. Love One Another by this shall men know ye are my disciples. All of this starts in the home. Gospel Centered families are Essential to the growth and development to all those around us. Families are pivotal in God's plan and must be oriented to follow it. When they are, those around will be blessed immensely in their lives as their light affects each person. But it ALL starts in the home.

You can stop reading now...
SATURDAY MORNING SESSION

Elder Gary E. Stevenson - Blessed are the Peacemakers: It all starts in your heart. As you seek to bring peace first in yourself it will spread to those around you. “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God.”

Sister Tracy C. Browning - Power of Primary: Don't underestimate the power of a primary song. There is a reason why these are the things we learn first when growing up in the church. Other than being a catchy melody they are foundational principles of the gospel to remember every day as eternal truths.

Elder Ronald M. Barcellos- Apply our Hearts: In many cases we may look towards outward appearance while Christ always looks towards the inner. Christ wants our sincere hearts to be in our works and once they are and are aligned with his will we will be blessed.

Elder Brik V. Eyre - Sons and Daughters of God: Knowing we are all sons and daughters of God changes our life as we know he wants us to return back to him. Our Heavenly father wants us to talk to him, and more than anything he wants to listen and to help us in all things.

Elder Kelley R. Johnson - Progressive Faith: In order to maintain our spiritual relationship with God we must look to strengthen it everyday. Conversion is a life-long process starting with small daily efforts towards God.

⭐️Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf - Gifts and Actions: We are all given gifts in our lives. We all have the potential to utilize these gifts. This takes consistent efforts and time. We don't learn to use them immediately, growth is incremental. These gifts, THAT WE ALL HAVE, will be magnified by our faith and desires of our hearts. “We cant rely on the fire of yesterday to warm us today.”

SATURDAY AFTERNOON SESSION

Elder Ronald A. Rasband - Gospel Centered Family: The Family a Proclamation to the World is doctrine and will not change. A gospel, church, centered family is ESSENTIAL to our lives here on earth.

Brother Chad H. Webb - Lens for Learning: Sometimes we undervalue the importance of invitation and encouragement to those around us. We have the ability to greatly affect people when we view things through the lens of the Lord and how we can prepare to help and teach those around us.

Brother Jeremy R. Jaggi - Spirit to be with Us: The sacrament is not only symbolic of the Savior but symbolic of us. Each piece is different and each can have the spirit to always be with them.

⭐️Elder Kevin G. Brown - A Testimony is Forever: It starts with a choice. Choose to follow him. We need to have his spirit with us. A testimony is NOT given for temporary use and it should not diminish due to life experience but rather grow stronger, helping us along the way.

Elder Gerrit W. Gong - Help All: Living the gospel of Jesus Christ means to help all come unto him. How we treat those that are afflicted is how we treat him. Helping each other is essential to our growth.

Brother Michael Cziesla - Act in Simplicity: As we act in simplicity we continuously build our foundation and strength in Christ. The Gospel is simple, when the focus of our lives is on Christ we can receive the fullness of joy.

Elder Quentin L. Cook - Welcome All: In these times the church is growing at a rapid pace. We need to be activity helping those that are coming. But in addition, we need to be helping those come back and do so with open arms.

SATURDAY EVENING SESSION

⭐️Elder Patrick Kearon - New Beginnings: This is the church of new beginnings and fresh starts. The Savior died for this purpose. He has already paid the price in full. He doesn't pay more the more times you come back to him and he doesn't pay less when you choose not to. He wants ALL to come back into the fold and he mourns when they don't.

Sister J. Annette Dennis - Love One Another: People don't need more judgment; they need the pure love of Christ; charity. It's not a gospel of checklists, but one of becoming. All need to be cheered on no matter the steadiness of the path they are taking to the end.

Elder Steven C. Barlow - Love of God: Often we are like the elder brother in the Prodigal Son, we focus on ourselves. We may ask or focus on where God's love is for us before we look for our love for him. It is when we truly first begin to love God we see his love for us.

Elder William K. Jackson - Counting and Accounting: We need to remember those around us. Notice and remember those who may be missing and reach out. A simple act can bring major returns.

Elder Neil L. Anderson - The Atonement of Jesus Christ: The joy will come. Healing and forgiveness are both found in the Atonement of Jesus Christ. “He has the power to bring beauty from your ashes of suffering.”

SUNDAY MORNING SESSION

⭐️Elder Jeffrey R. Holland - Blessings of God: Sometimes the answers to our prayers and blessings in our lives come in simple ways. More simple than we might think, we overlook them. God can bless us through any method he wants or chooses and sometimes they are the things simply right in front of us.

Elder James E. Evanson - Service of your Fellow beings: Go about doing good. Don't look to be ministered to but look to minister. God needs us to be of service, spreading the love of God in any way we can.

Elder Ulisses Soares - Temperance: Temperance is essential in all of our spiritual efforts. No one can assist in the work without humbleness, faith, love, and charity for the people around them.

Elder Peter M. Johnson - Come Unto the House of the Lord: At times we may have doubts, uncertainty, or feel alone but we must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ (2nd Nephi 31:20). The key to overcoming these things is consistent sacrament and temple attendance. We are promised that every sincere seeker will find him in the house of the lord.

Elder D. Todd Christofferson - Prosperity in the Lord: It is only by looking to God that people, families, cities, and nations can flourish to their full potential. The opposite of prosperity is not poverty but being cut off from the presence of the Lord.

Sister Adrea MuΓ±oz Spannez - Upon a Rock: It starts in the home. We must build families of faith, understanding and teaching gospel principles with the blessings that will come with them listening to the prophets of old and those of today.

Elder Henry B. Eyring - To be Proved: At times we may feel inadequate or discouraged but we know through the Lord we can do all things. We are not weakened by our stressed or afflictions but rather should be strengthened. Christ knows how to strengthen us because he has been through everything that we have.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON SESSION

Elder David A. Bednar - Moral Agency: We are here to use our spiritual agency to spiritually grow. We are commanded to use it to love God and our neighbors. We will not be judged solely on what we did but what we became.

Elder Corey Cuvelier - Know Your Name: We all need to take upon the name of Christ. We need to know our name. Discipleship is a lifelong process, and it starts by inviting all to come unto him.

Elder Matthew S. Holland - Dry Land to be Found: Whatever the degree of disaster we will find dry land. We can not have the lows without the highs. Relief is found through living the gospel and temple attendance

Elder Carlos A Godoy - Positivity Through Christ: There are members of the church around the world that go through extreme measures and difficulties to attend church activities. However they do everything with the biggest smile. With a full positivity and genuine joy because they are looking to Christ.

Elder Dale G. Renlund - Title of Jesus Christ: How do our behaviors change as we adopt the title of Christ. As we continue along the convent path we take upon his name more and more. Due to this we receive more and more of his power in our lives as we live according to the covenants made.

Elder John D. Amos - The Recipe of the Gospel: Sometimes in our gospel journey or the cooking of life we mess up our recipes. The solution is always to put more Christ in our lives. The recipe may not require major changes or even if it does it is by small and simple steps.

Elder Ozani Farias - Feast on the Words: It is essential to be consistent in your efforts of growing in the gospel. But even more important to FEAST upon the words of Christ not simply read. As we feast on the words will tell us the things we need to do.

⭐️President Dallin H. Oaks - Families are Essential: The doctrine of Jesus Christ is focused on the roles of families. They are a PIVOTAL role in God's plan. The family needs to be church oriented. With this they can be eternal.

I love you all. I am so blessed with the most incredible family ever and could never express how grateful I am.

Love
